The Account Manager role is an important customer facing role working from our Brokerage division office in Dubuque, IA, and has the following job duties:
Daily tasks:
- Communication with customers and carrier reps.
- Maintaining high KPI scores that meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Managing a current book of business of existing customers while also working on adding additional organic customers.
- Staying up to date with current market rates, trends, industry news and weather.
- Building shipments, setting pick-up and delivery appointments as needed.
- Bid on spot shipments, complete RFPs and SOPs for customers.
Preferred Requirements:
- Logistics & customer service experience.
- Previous experience in a 3PL, freight brokerage, or transportation sales role
- Familiarity with TL, LTL, intermodal, and/or specialized freight
- Logistics & customer service experience.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Ability to multi-task, work in a team environment, organized and self-motivated.
- Strong phone presence with the ability to make a high volume of outbound calls
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Persuasive negotiation and closing abilities
- Comfort working in a fast‑paced, metrics‑driven environment
- Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office tools
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Working Conditions
- Ability to be in office full-time with prolonged periods of phone and computer use
- Fast‑paced logistics environment with fluctuating priorities
- Occasional extended hours may be required based on customer or freight needs
